Hi Jaycee. Thanks for letting me interview you!
What’s the inside scoop on Deadly Shadows? Tell us what’s special about it and if it’s part of a series.
Deadly Shadows is the start to my Deadly/Kinncaid Brother series. The beginning of a series that I’d love to get away from sometimes, but find cousins keep popping out of the woodwork and want their stories told as well.
What’s your favorite writing ritual?
When I have that celebratory ‘the end’ toast to myself. Or the snoopy dance. As for everyday rituals, just the sound of my mechanical keyboard and the smell of coffee while listening to great tunes.
If you could have dinner with someone (dead, alive, fictional or real) who would it be and why?
My grandmother or my nephew, I miss both horribly. And I’d just love to hug their necks and see their beautiful smiles one more time.
Anything you want to tell the readers?
Thank you. Seriously, without you guys, I’d just be telling stories to myself that gathered dust on my hard drive.
Some fun fast facts about Jaycee . . .
What’s your favorite color? Black
What show did you last binge-watch? I don’t know. I haven’t really watched anything lately, I’ve been reading. Justified? Several months ago, I think.
Are you a beer or wine person? Wine, unless I just ran a 5K in July in Texas, then ice-cold beer they give you for being dumb enough to run in Texas in July, is AWESOME.
What food helps your writing mojo? Chocolate covered coffee beans
What paranormal species is your fav to write? Vampires and fae
Are your a book plotter or a pantser? Pantser
Are you a fan of boxers or briefs? For myself or consort? LOL. Boxers.
Who’s your favorite band or singer? Depends on my mood honestly. The Beatles are a great go-to though.
Meet the Author
An NYT and USA Today Bestseller, I write romantic suspense. I enjoy playing with imaginary people in my head. Sometimes those people are nice, sometimes they’re not, but in the end, the girl gets the guy so all is well.
I live in Texas with my family. They put up with my strangeness and appreciate my weirdness–or so they claim. We promote weirdness. We have three bossy Aussies who, in truth, rule the family.
When I’m not chained to my keyboard, I’m doubling as the wife of my trusted consort, the proud mom of two young men, a flailing housekeeper, a master plant eliminator, and I’m probably burning dinner.
